What is the standard to which a fiduciary is held?

A trustee shall invest and manage trust assets as a prudent investor would, by considering the purposes, terms, distribution requirements, and other circumstances of the trust. In satisfying this standard, the trustee shall exercise reasonable care, skill, and caution.

Our assistance starts with a thorough investigation of the goals and constraints on the portfolio under your care. Once these are defined, we develop appropriate guidelines for its ongoing supervision and management. We build a portfolio risk model, then stress test it by adjusting asset allocations and distribution schedules, to see which of them have the best chances of success. We record risk preferences and asset management guidelines in a custom investment policy statement.

We provide the objective recommendations you need to make informed and defensible decisions, and then help you put them to work.

Finally, once you implement your investment and management strategies, we measure and evaluate their performance and provide ongoing advice.
